The Hullavington 10K – 2018

Congratulations to Simon Nott of Calne Running Club and Sian Thomas from City of Salibury A&RC who ran out as winners in the inaugural Hullavington 10K and were also crowned as Wiltshire County Champions for the distance.

Three hundred runners lined up for the inaugural running of The Hullavington 10K, which had also been awarded the honour of being the Wiltshire county championship race over the distance as well as being Race #7 in the 2018 Wiltshire Road Race League.

Leading from the start over the gently undulating course was Simon Nott of Calne Running Club who clocked a time of 32:52 to finish over a minute ahead of second placed Michael Towler of Avon Valley Runners and Dan Thomas of Cheltenham Harriers who completed the podium. 

In the Ladies race, Sian Thomas from City of Salisbury A&RC led the way to be crowned county champion in a time of 39:30 and well clear of Avon Valley’s Veryan Cranston in the silver medal position and bronze medallist, Calne Running Club’s Denise Nott.

The team prizes both went to Trowbridge based Avon Valley Runners with Michael Towler, Damian Spreckley and Gary Day for the Men and Veryan Cranston, Anita Mellodew and Diane Hier for the Ladies.

Age Group awards went to the following runners: MV40 – Gary Dunstone of Team Bath; FV40 – Anita Mellodew of Avon Valley Runners; MV50 – Heath Bampton of Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds; FV50 – Diane Hier of Avon Valley Runners; MV60 – Neil Tiley of Devizes Running Club; FV60 – Caroline Horne of Devizes Running Club.
